London, specifically the Slough corridor, represents one of Europe's most strategic data center markets due to its exceptional connectivity density. Slough hosts one of Europe's largest network ecosystems with direct access to LINX peering, over 100 network and cloud providers, and proximity to major subsea cable landing stations. The area west of the M25 combines this connectivity advantage with abundant power, land availability for expansion, and lower operating costs compared to central London - all while maintaining low-latency access to the City of London and UK markets.

Slough has established itself as the prime United Kingdom data center corridor, offering critical advantages over central London: greater power availability to support high-density deployments, larger facility footprints enabling campus-scale operations, proximity to fiber routes and peering exchanges, and cost efficiencies - all while delivering sub-2-millisecond latency to central London. The concentration of data center providers and carriers in Slough creates a network-rich ecosystem that actually provides superior connectivity options compared to locations within the M25.

For London colocation, Iron Mountain operates three data center facilities in the greater London area, all located on our Slough campus. LON-1 offers 17,000 square meters (183,000 square feet) and 8.7 MW, originally a Credit Suisse facility that has been upgraded to current standards. LON-2 is a greenfield data center with 27 MW built for hyperscale requirements. LON-3 is currently under construction, with a planned capacity of 25 MW and 5,220 square meters for 2026. Together, these facilities can be deployed individually or in combination to support redundancy, disaster recovery, and campus-wide expansion strategies.

Today, our London campus delivers a total power capacity of 36 megawatts across more than 35,000 square meters (376,700 square feet) of data center space. This substantial capacity enables deployments ranging from individual racks to multi-megawatt hyperscale environments. Once completed, LON-3 will bring our campus totals to 61 MW across 40,200 square meters to support long-term growth requirements.

Iron Mountain's London data centers maintain comprehensive compliance certifications including ISO 27001 (information security), ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 22301 (business continuity), HITRUST,, PCI-DSS, SOC 2 Type II, and SOC 3.
